New camera and continuing guitar work.

I’ve been having a problem updating my blog because my wife works in Sounthern California 2 weeks per month and she always brings the digital camera with her. So when she’s gone I can’t take photos.

Well, my wife’s sister just bought a new camera so my wife purchased her sister’s camera to give to me. So now I can take pictures again. (Yeah!)

In any case. The guitar is coming along. The back is finished. I’m using a radially braced back instead of a traditional ladder braced back. The radial bracing is suppose to make a more responsive fingerstyle instrument (which is the primary purpose for this instrument). They look like this:

That particular photo is a bit fuzzy, but I swear it’s the lighting, not my new camera. :D

The sides are two beautiful pieces of Indian rosewood.

I bent the sides using my new silicon heat blanket bending system and they’re coming out incredibly smooth.

The cutaway came out great. I’ve got to go take a few more pictures as I build the body. I think I’ll have the body glued up by tomorrow evening.

The shop is starting to get crowded. I also have 2 dulcimers in progress.
