A Worth While Benefit and more guitar stuff.
I should have posted this at least a week ago. But tonight we’re doing a benefit concert for the
Cherish a Child organization. Tonight we’re trying to raise money for
Joel Teixeira. Long story short: If Joel doesn’t get an incredibly expensive surgery very soon then
he doesn’t have long to live.
So tonight at 7:00pm Music and More will be doing a concert. The cost is only a $10 donation and I’d love to see the
every seat in the theater full. We’ll be giving every penny of the $10 to Joel’s family. There are quite
a few musicians playing so it should be a great show.
Guitar Stuff
I’ll get some photos up this weekend, but the sides are bent and the body is coming together. I want to have the
linings in and the back glued on by the end of the weekend.
I just ordered a boatload of stuff from
Stewart MacDonald. That should
get me to the point where I’m almost done buying tools. The main tools that I needed were a fretting template
for an acoustic guitar scale length and a set of templates for routing the neck to body mortise and tenon.
Oh My Gosh some of these specialty tools are expensive. You know how the holes for the bridge pins are tapered?
There’s a special tool to carve that 5 degree taper.

and it cost $47 !
I think the mortise and tenon jig will be the last jig I need to build. Then I can run through the entire
process of building a guitar without having to wait for a tool to arrive.
OK, well, I need to go restring my guitar to get ready for the show tonight. I hope to see you there.
