The "Brouelette Musical Instrument" compound.
Inside the messy shop
Look closely and you can see 4 Tennesee music boxes, a guitar, and a mandolin

The lining is being glued to the dulcimer sides.

Here the body is on it's side so you can see the bracing and lining along the top.
Two of the braces are dyed black because they can be seen through the soundholes.
The black dye makes it so the brace can't be seen.

The fretboard is almost done

Here's a view the customer never sees. I hollow out the fretboard to make it lighter
This makes the instrument resonate better

Here's a close up of the inlay.

I've selected the wood for the back and cut it.
These two bookmatched pieces will be the back.
The color looks different because of the way the light is hitting the grain
Once it's sanded and joined it will match beautifully.

I bent the binding on the hot pipe today

Here's a close up of the bocote binding with the thin white line of maple.

The top is joined and is ready to sand to the proper thickness.
Once it's sanded that glue line will vanish
This was the widest piece of spruce I had. It was JUST wide enough.
